According to the Factories and Industrial Undertakings (Safety Management) Regulations, a proprietor or contractor shall appoint a registered safety auditor to conduct a safety audit in relation to the relevant industrial undertaking or, a safety review officer to conduct a safety review for a smaller setup. The audit/review is carried out on an annual or a half-year basis and provides an organisation with a clear picture of their performance in terms of health and safety management. As a result, remedial actions can be taken before incidents occur.
